Agnieszka Pastula

I am a biologist fascinated with biomedical sciences, especially basic and translational cancer research, with >11 years of full-time experience in research. I received my Master´s in biology from Jagiellonian University in PoIand and my PhD in biomedical sciences from Technical University of Munich in Germany. After my PhD defense I continued to work in the same laboratory (Michael Quante Lab), as a postdoctoral scientist, to finish a long-term research project; followed by a postdoctoral training in Michael Shen Lab at Columbia University Medical Center, NYC, the USA. Currently, I am working as a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Richard Lundmark, where I am establishing a new research project on the role of the tumor microenvironment in regulating cell surface dynamics in cancer cells. In the project my expertise on 3D cell culture models and Richard Lundmark's expertise in biochemistry will be combined. In about 2 years I would like to establish a multidisciplinary research group. My long-term goal is to identify novel cellular targets of the tumor microenvironment for cancer therapy.
