Communication officer for The Laboratory for Molecular Infection Medicine Sweden (MIMS) with focus on research in life sciences and medicine.
I am a communication officer for The Laboratory for Molecular Infection Medicine Sweden (MIMS) at Umeå University.
My focus is on internal and external research communication and I am webmaster for the websites of MIMS. When I am in charge of conference organization (eg KBC Days, Umeå Renewable Energy Meeting - UREM, 32nd Annual Meeting of the Nordic Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases - NSCMID 2015) I am responsible for the correspondence with invited speakers and organize their travel and accommodation. I also produce the conference's abstract book and the conference website with registration form.
Quite often I am in contact with international researchers, for example in connection with recruitments MIMS environments where I help facilitate the start of newly recruited scientists at Umeå University.
At MIMS, I am supporting the director Oliver Billker and the MIMS management and I administratively support recruitments of group leaders and postdocs. MIMS is the only Swedish laboratory within the Nordic EMBL Partnership for Molecular Medicine with partners in Finland (FIMM), Denmark (Dandrite) and Norway (NCMM). MIMS follows the EMBL model for recruitment of group leaders and postdoctoral staff within the EC postdoctoral programme. This programme based on the Excellence by Choice Jubilee Prize 2015, which was endowed by the University's Vice-chancellor during the University's 50th anniversary to honour MIMS group leader Emmanuelle Charpentier for her discoveries on CRISPR-Cas9.
