Information for students, faculty and staff regarding COVID-19. (Updated: 26 February 2021)
I am a Postdoc jointly funded by the Language Studies Department and Humlab, a technical environment specifically for digital humanities.
My work revolves around embodied metaphor with particular interest in allegory, dance, indigenous metaphor use, prepositions, phrasal verbs, and computer assisted language learning techniques.
As a Postdoctoral Researcher in Umeå, I will be developing a digital tool for ESL teachers to employ which systematically introduces prepositions and phrasal verbs, both notably problematic even for advanced speakers. This project is jointly funded by The Department of Language Studies and HumLab (a technical environment specifically for digital humanities). I will also be teaching several courses in the fall including "Cognitive Linguistics" and "Language, Brain and Cognition." I am a member of the CogLing Group(https://www.umu.se/en/research/groups/cogling-umu/) and MetNet Scandinavia(https://www.metnetscandinavia.com/).
