Prior to undertaking doctoral studies, I practiced as a criminological Police Investigator for the Royal New Zealand Police, specialising in criminal prosecution. During this time, I concurrently undertook research for the Evidenced Based Policing Centre, focusing on the psychological processes leading up to sexual offending and rehabilitation.

I recently completed my Masters degree at Umeå University in Public Health, seeking to advance our understanding of Epidemiological Criminology, and how one’s experiences of poor health promote criminal trajectories, while developing preventative strategies at an ecological level in order to reduce the onset of criminal behaviours/cognitions.

My current research interests seek to understand the casual mechanisms of deterioating mental health among Swedish adolescents’ as a result of educational curriculum reform.
