The main aim of my research is to answer the question; what controls habitats-specific (benthic and pelagic) and whole-lake ecosystem primary production? So that I focus on studying the top-down and bottom-up controls of primary production by investigating four projects; 1- Role of carbon dioxide in controlling whole-lake ecosystem primary production. 2- Carbon dioxide limitation of benthic primary production. 3- The impact of climate changes via increased allochthonous colored dissolved organic matter (cDOM) inputs and elevated temperature on habitats-specific and whole-lake ecosystem primary production. and 4- The role of top-down (a food web) with elevated temperature in driving lake primary production.
