Previous work as reseacher
Examples of reseach areas
Brominated compounds in Arctis
In this project area, I have studied the exchange of brominated compounds between Sea and air. Particularly the exchange of naturally formed bromoanisoles have been investigated and compared with antropogenic halogenated hydrocarbons, e.g., bominated flame retardants and chlorinated pesticides.
Assessment of drug exposure among medical staff during preparation and administration. Last project was a screening investigation of spill and leakage of antibiotics during compounding and administration in hospitals. This project was supported by AFA and was finished in 2011.
Development of measurement methods for metals and organometals
Traditional monitoring of aerosols and airborne metals in workplaces is a dual procedure. Sampling is carried out in the workplace and after that the samples are analysed in a labotatory at a later occation. Now modern electronic instruments make it possible to monitor aerosols and airborne metals on site at the workpalce. This opens for new strategies for monitoring exposure in various workplaces. Quick and simple measurements on site opens for broad screening studies with many measurements to identify problems areas for more extended and deeper investigations. These fast simple methods can also be an efficient pedagogic tool to show workers how to carry out work tasks in a safe and secure manner to minimize hazardous exposure.
