I am Associate Professor (Docent) of Sociology and Programme Coordinator of Library and Information Science.
I received my PhD in History of Science and Ideas from Umeå University in 2000. Before coming to the Department of Sociology in 2009, I was a postdoc at the Swedish Institute for Studies in Education and Research (SISTER), Stockholm, and at the University of Sussex, and researcher at the Department of History of Science and Ideas, Uppsala University. I have been a visiting scholar at the Swedish Collegium for Advanced Study (SCAS), London South Bank University, the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science in Berlin, the University of Potsdam and Uppsala STS Center.
I am currently working on two research projects, one on "Alva Myrdal and Cold War International Social Science" (funded by RJ) and the other one on "Bibliotekskonsulenterna och det svenska bibliotekssystemets formering" (a pilot study funded by Svensk biblioteksförening and Stockholms Arbetareinstitutsförening). Courses taught include "Global Sociology", "Social Science in Context" and "History and Sociology of Libraries".
I am also Steering Committee member of the Research Committee on the History of Sociology (RCHS) of the International Sociological Association (ISA) and Editorial Board member of the Journal of the History of the Behavioral Sciences. In 2013 I was awarded the Katrin Fridjonsdottir Memorial Prize in the Sociology of Knowledge, and since 2018 I am a so-called "recognised teacher" (meriterad lärare).
