Dr Rasmus Karlsson is an Associate Professor in political science. He has published widely on climate mitigation policy, development ethics, and global affairs from an ecomodernist perspective.
I am an Associate Professor and Qualified Teacher ("meriterad lärare") at the Department of Political Science. I teach and manage a range of courses including the introductory course to political theory. In my research, I mostly work on long-term global sustainability issues from an ecomodernist perspective. My articles have been published in leading international journals such as Environmental Politics, Climate Policy and Citizenship Studies. For the moment, I am working on a book chapter about ecomodernism and non-human nature.
Prior to joining the Department of Political Science in Umeå, I was an Assistant Professor at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS) in Seoul, Republic of Korea, where I was responsible for an MA programme in sustainable development for three years. I have also worked at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China, as a Marie Curie Research Fellow and in Hong Kong as a post-doctoral research fellow at the Hong Kong Institute of Education.
For a more personal introduction to my research, I maintain a weblog at www.rawlsandme.blogspot.comClose
