In order to access the central IT systems at Umeå University, you need a user account, an Umu-id. You will receive a user account after you have been admitted to studies at Umeå University, and you will need to activate it before you can use it to sign in.
Umeå University offers all active students a user account. The user account gives you access to our wireless networks, to the learning platforms Cambro and Moodle, and to Portalen, where you for example can register for course examinations, create certificates of your studies or apply for a degree. You will also be given an email address which you can access via o365.umu.se.
You also need to have your user account before you can get the Umu card. It is therefore important that you activate your account as soon as possible.
If you have received a letter from Umeå University with an activation code, you can use it to activate your user account.
When you have been admitted in the final selection results, information about an activation code will be sent to your registered address. You will receive the letter you get the first week in August if you are starting in the autumn term and first week in January if you are starting in the spring term.
