Facilities at UID include student studios, staff offices, class rooms, holkens (group rooms), workshops and labs, staff and student kitchen, student sauna, and common spaces.
Once registered, all students receive a key card that will permits access 24/7
24/7 accessibility to school facilities
As a student at UID, you have access to the school 24/7, almost all year round. The only time we close the school completely for students is during the summer break, from mid-June to late August. This generous access to the school and its' facilities can only be applied as long as we all, students and staff together, actively take responsibility for following UID and Umeå University rules, for keeping the school in good shape and for reporting anything that breaks, does not work or needs fixing. Please contact Servicedesk or talk directly to our house technician Anders Hellström (or anyone in the UID staff). If something malfunctions -- like doors or alarms -- after office hours, or on weekends, you should contact the University security company on phone number 090-786 7600.
Christmas Break
Workshops are closed for Christmas break December 23-January 6 (Opens on the first workday after January 6).
Summer Break
Workshops are closed for summer break from two weeks after end-of-semester until the first day of the autumn semester.
