Who can register?

The ceremony is both for graduating students at undergraduate and graduate level. As a graduate student you also have to register your guests.

Note: You can attend the ceremony and get a certificate even if you are not ready with the thesis work as the certificate is only "ceremonial". To get the Degree Diploma from Umeå University, you must apply for this when all your courses are completed.

It has always been of great interest to attend the Graduation Ceremony, therefore we must limit the number of guests to 3 per graduating student. The Aula Nordica holds 1100 seats.

If you have a guest with disability who needs a special place to sit, please contact

Extra guest tickets

When the registration time has expired (May 8) we will know if we can release extra tickets. You will get an email with information.

Update: There are only 100 tickets left. On Friday May 10 at 11.00 AM you will be able to register additional guests here:

Pick up your tickets

The week before the ceremony you have to pick up your student ticket and your guest tickets at the Student Service Office at the Department of Business Administration. You will get an email when you can pick them up.

You and your guests need to bring the tickets to the ceremony!

A seat is reserved for each participant so please contact if you or your guests will not attend the ceremony. Many of the graduates wish to have more tickets so please inform us of any cancellation.

The ceremony is an official occasion and a celebration, there is no actual dress code but you are expected to dress up and you are more than welcome to wear your national costume. See photo from previous year.

Last day to sign up for the ceremony is the 8th of May. You must register your guests when you register yourself.

Registration is closed

We wish you and your guests very Welcome!
