Information from Tokyo Metropolitan University
Course restrictions:
Incoming exchange students will need an undergraduate diploma to apply for graduate courses. Most graduate courses are conducted in Japanese, and therefore graduate students will need to take many undergraduate courses.
Specific course restrictions for courses offered in English can be found on the Course List.
If an exchange student wants to take courses offered to full-time TMU students, they will need to request a permit from each lecturer.
Exchange students with a Japanese proficiency of JLPT N1 may also take courses conducted in Japanese. The student would need permission from the course lecturer in that case.
More specific instructions and information for exchange students can be found on the SATOMU (Semester Abroad at TMU) Programme website.
