In this course, we use the learning platform Cambro Live lectures, presentation seminars and a number of discussions will utilize Adobe Connect or Zoom.
This is a course with advanced level students and a global context. We will therefore be utilizing a variety of methods for communicating with each other in order to support the educational goals of the course, which will be presented in the readings and lectures. A number of discussion forums, recorded lectures, external links and various media will be utilized, and since many of these are not mandatory, the value of these activities will depend on your interest and participation. These activities are however geared directly to the learning goals of the course and to the focus of the three written examinations, discussion forums and presentation seminars. There may also be "drop-in" (live chats) times, when I will be available to answer questions regarding the course. We are extremely interested in creating an ongoing dialogue regarding the distance learning strategies that work best for you. You will receive a schedule of the topics to be covered on a week-by-week basis during the introduction to the course. This will include a list of activities, including recorded lectures, discussion forums, opportunities for supervision, guest lectures and additional media that can help support your learning in the course. The majority of these activities will be available on our learning platform, Cambro, and can be accessed according to your own schedule and availability. Examination seminars will be mandatory and live on-line, and these will be offered at a variety of times. The date you must be aware of now, since it is scheduled and mandatory, is the following; 1) Course introduction – January 22 – 1:15-3 PM(Kl 13:15-15:00).This will include an overview of the course and a brief introduction to the learning tools which will be utilized. The meeting will be conducted with an online meeting platform called Zoom. You will receive an invitation from me with a link some days prior to the meeting. Make sure you have a working microphone (headset preferable) and a web camera. This is a mandatory moment in the course, and extremely valuable in terms of meeting other students and understanding how we work in the course. The first assignment for the course, which should be submitted prior to this meeting, consists of a presentation letter describing who you are, your professional and educational experience and focus and your reasons for taking this course. We are also interested in your expectations for the course and your availability for live (scheduled) seminars, so we can potentially develop small groups with similar needs. The document, which will be available to all students and teachers participating in the course, should be at least 1 and no more than 2 A4 pages. The letter should be uploaded to the course platform Cambro, prior to the course start (instructions will be posted on Cambro).
