This course gives you the opportunity to learn and practice field- and laboratory methods applied in Environmental Archaeology. Landscape studies are common features of Archaeology, where the soil- and sedimentary record is analysed, both prior to and during archaeological excavations. This course provides an introduction to sampling strategies in Environmental Archaeology and subsequent analytical techniques. Archaeobothanical studies, pollen analysis and various soil chemical and physical analyses are methods commonly used. Results obtained within the course is compiled, interpreted and presented in a final report.
