Innehåll


Kursen behandlar samhälleliga, organisatoriska och individuella perspektiv och erfarenheter av åldrande och omsorg. Ur ett socialt perspektiv problematiseras och begreppsliggörs åldrandets utmaningar och äldres levnadsvillkor som knyter an till de tre övergripande temana
1) äldreomsorg ur ett välfärdsstatligt perspektiv, 2) social utsatthet samt 3) omsorg och omsorgsgivande. Äldres livsvillkor och behov problematiseras utifrån förändrade former för styrning, organisering och lagstiftning så väl som socialt utsatthet som missbruk, funktionshinder, våld och fattigdom. Omsorgsrelationer och omsorgsgivande problematiseras i relation till bland annat kompetens, intimitet, familj, omsorg i livets slutskede, död och sorg. Under kursen problematiseras etiska förhållningssätt och dilemman i socialt arbetet med äldre. Äldre, åldrande och omsorg belyses och problematiseras i relation till kön, klass, etnicitet och sexualitet.

 

Förväntade studieresultat

Studenten ska efter avslutad kurs:

Kunskap och förståelse

- ha fördjupade kunskaper om och förståelse för det sociala åldrandets villkor och förutsättningar
- visa kunskap om teorier och forskning om äldre och åldrande
- ha kunskap om och förståelse för utövandet av socialt arbetet med äldre, såsom myndighetsutövning, formellt och informellt omsorgsgivande
- ha kunskap om äldres levnadsvillkor och utsatta livssituationer såsom missbruk, våld, relationer, omsorgsberoende

Färdighet och förmåga

- visa förmåga och färdighet att kritiskt analysera och reflektera över åldrande, välfärd och omsorg i relation till normer om kön och genus samt etnicitet och funktionshinder
- visa förmåga att kritiskt reflektera kring teorier och forskning om äldre, åldrande och äldreomsorg
- självständigt kunna reflektera kring välfärdsförändringar och dess betydelse för socialt arbete äldre

Värderingsförmåga och förhållningssätt

- självständigt kunna identifiera och värdera faktorer som påverkar äldres livsvillkor på individ-, grupp- och samhällsnivå
- självständigt och kritiskt kunna inhämta, värdera och tillämpa kunskap inom området
 

Behörighetskrav

För studenter på socionomprogrammet krävs att kurser omfattande 150 hp inom ramen för programmet är examinerade, registrerade och godkända (90 hp termin 1-3, samt 60 hp termin 4-6. Utöver detta krävs pågående studier på termin 6.

 

Undervisningens upplägg

Kursen ges i form av traditionell campusutbildning. Undervisningen sker i form av föreläsningar, seminarier och individuella presentationer

Examination

Kursen examineras löpande genom aktivt seminariedeltagande (U till G) Utöver det examineras kursen genom en avslutande individuell skriftlig fördjupningsuppgift (U till VG), som presenteras vid ett examinationsseminarium. Vid examinationsseminariet ska studenter även delta aktivt i diskussioner kring kurskamraters presenterade fördjupningsuppgifter.

För betyget Godkänd på hela kursen krävs att samtliga seminarier är godkända samt att den individuella skriftliga uppgiften är Godkänd.

För betyget Väl Godkänd på hela kursen krävs att samtliga seminarier är Godkända samt att den individuella skriftliga uppgiften uppnår betygskriteriet Väl Godkänd.

Student som ej uppnått godkänt resultat på den skriftliga inlämningsuppgiften och seminariedeltagandet kan efter beslut av examinator ges möjlighet till komplettering för att uppnå examinationsuppgiftens kriterier för godkänt betyg. Komplettering av examinationen ska anpassas individuellt utifrån det/de mål som inte uppnåtts av studenten och ska äga rum inom två veckor efter att studenterna meddelats examinationsresultatet.

Ansökan om examination på annan ort sker hos studentexpeditionen.

Student har rätt att byta examinator efter två icke godkända examinationer, om inte särskilda skäl talar emot det. Skriftlig begäran lämnas till studierektor på avancerad nivå senast två veckor före nästa examinationstillfälle.
