Module 1 PERSPECTIVES ON STRATEGY (7,5 hp/7,5 ECTS credits) The first core course examines various perspectives on strategy, providing a platform for the courses to follow. The aim of the course is to provide students with a comprehensive and current knowledge on strategy in organizations.
Module 2 PEOPLE – THE HUMAN SIDE OF ORGANIZING (7,5 hp/7,5 ECTS credits) The foundation of every organization is the humans involved in it, and efforts to understand and manage various types of organizations today must begin with the people – with the human side of the organization.Therefore, the second course in the program explores the individual and focuses on individual perceptions, emotions, learning, identity construction, and moral development. Furthermore, issues related to the interaction and communication between humans in an organizational context will be dealt with, such as gender, diversity, and socialisation. All through the exploration of these themes, the implications for managing and leading various types of organisations will be highlighted.
Module 3 PROJECT MANAGEMENT (7,5 hp/7,5 ECTS credits) Management is dependent upon general organizational characteristics and circumstances, rendering organizational forms and structures of major importance. The focus of this course is on projects and project management. The course will also cover multi-project-portfolio issues, thus providing an insight into general management concerns in a project-intensive organization.
Module 4 STRATEGIZING - PLANNING AND PROCESSES (7,5 hp/7,5 ECTS credits) In this course, the knowledge from the previous courses are amalgamated in an overall strategic perspective. This course moves from a largely theoretical focus to a more applied problem-solving approach, in which lectures and literature are combined with "real business strategy" in project works inspired by guest lecturers and corporate representatives.
