In 2021, I obtained my Ph.D. in cellular biology and physiopathology at Bordeaux University (France), supervised by Dr. Abdel-Majid Khatib.
My Ph.D. project aimed to understand the role of proproteins convertases (PCs) in colon cancer stem cell (CSCs) properties. Notably on cancer stem cell marker expression, proliferation, invasiveness, and chemoresistance. Also, I evaluated the correlation between KRAS/BRAF mutations and PCs in CSC malignant phenotypes.
During my one-year post doc, I focused my work on PCs' role in pancreatic cancer stem cells and on the use of natural extract molecules as potent PC inhibitors. This new class of inhibitors reduces pancreatic cancer stem cell self-renewal as well the stem cell frequency and increases their chemosensitivity.
In my current research, I am investigating the connection between mutation profiles of pancreatic cancer and the immune microenvironment related to the patient outcome. I am a postdoc in professor Teresa Frisan lab.
