Checklista inför studiestart
Innan den första dagen på din utbildning behöver du ta några viktiga steg.
1.Your offer
You have been admitted. If you want to keep your place (seat), you do not have to reply to your offer.
If you do not want to keep your place you should decline your offer by logging in to 'My pages' on universityadmissions.se, and follow the instructions. You should click "I wish to decline this offer" next to the course or programme you want to decline.
If you see "Reserve" next to your course or programme in the Notification of selection results, this means that you've been placed on a waiting list for that course/programme.
2.Aktivera ditt UMU-id och MFA
Som ny student får du automatiskt ett UMU-id, men du måste själv aktivera det. Det kan du vanligtvis göra en vecka innan terminsstart, men ofta går det att göra tidigare. Du får inget särskilt meddelande – håll själv koll när det går att aktivera.
Ditt UMU-id behöver du när du ska:
- registrera dig på utbildningen
- lämna in tentor, uppgifter eller se dina resultat
- kolla din studentmejl
- skaffa UMU-kort
- använda datorer i datorsalar och universitetets wifi
MFA – ökar din digitala säkerhet
För att öka säkerheten och minska risken att obehöriga kommer åt din information eller ditt konto behöver du aktivera MFA (multifaktorautentisering). MFA behövs för att du ska kunna logga in i olika system, exempelvis lärplattformen Canvas och studentwebben.

Om du får problem att logga in eller aktivera ditt UMU-id eller MFA kontakta IT-supporten Servicedesk så får du hjälp.
3.Registrera dig på kursen
Once you have accepted your place (seat) and activated your UMU ID and MFA, you must register for the course. You do this by logging in and registering via Ladok before the course starts. You can register from 24 August 2026 until 7 September 2026. If you have not registered by 7 September, you will lose your place.

If you are unable to attend
If you know in advance that you will not be able to register during this period, you must notify us before the last day for registration.
In case of acute illness or another unforeseen event
Contact us as soon as possible. A medical certificate is required.
4.Studiestart

Course start information
The first lesson for the first group will be on 7 September. You choose the day and time that suits you the best by signing up in a group in Canvas (learning platform, se more information below) after the registration.
Please note that you must commence studies no later than one week after the course has started.
To be able to start the course, you need to register online first (Ladok).
Course setup and learning platform
The course runs twice a week, (3 hours a week) on different days and times. You choose the day and time that suits you the best by signing up in a group in Canvas (learning platform) after the registration.
In this course we will use the learning platform Canvas as a complement to the education. When you register you will get access to it. You log in with your student account. The link to the platform is https://login.canvas.umu.se/en/
When you login to Canvas for the first time you sign up for a group. Login as soon as possible and check out the course site and the information you can find there.
