Computer lab
Umeå School of Architecture has a computer lab located in our spaces on the second floor of the Curiosum Building (Östra strandgatan 32) next to UMA's main facilities. Students have access to the space with your UMU card. The computer lab can occasionally be booked for classes.The computers in the lab have the following software installed:
- Adobe Creative Suite
- Autodesk Revit
- Autodesk AutoCAD
- Graphisoft ArchiCAD
- Microsoft Office
- Trimble SketchUp
Use your UMU ID to log into the computers. Please contact Sven-Erik
Hilberer if you experience any problems with the computer lab or related IT-issues.
Printers and printing
If you need to print in large formats
There is an A0 plotter used to print posters for presentations. Your teachers can provide you with more information when you need to print in A1 or A0 formats. Printing for other purposes can be done against a fee.

Student mailing lists and newsletters
Umeå School of Architecture has a general mailing list for all current programme students at the department. The list is mainly used to send out our student newsletters which contain general information, updates etc relevant to the whole student body. If you are not getting the emails from the mailing lists (like the UMA Students Newsletter), please contact Sven-Erik Hilberer.
Borrowing technical equipment
If you wish to borrow technical equipment belonging to Umeå School of Architecture, please contact Sven-Erik Hilberer or Kent Brodin.
When borrowing equipment, it is important that you write your UMU ID, phone number and the date of borrowing on the Whiteboard in Kent and Sven-Erik's office. The office is located in the main entrance of UMA, next to the elevator. When you return the equipment, wipe your name from the whiteboard.

- 4 Canon 1200D cameras
- Video camcorders
- Projectors
- 2 PA systems
- 2 thermal cameras
- Various measuring tools, e.g. laser rangefinder
