We are currently renovating large parts of the University Library. Study spaces are limited, and you will need to request many books in advance before borrowing. The entrance has been temporarily moved during the renovation.

Umeå University Library supports researchers through its search consultation service.
The University Library’s quiet study area on level 3 has reopened.
The Medical Library is currently preparing to move books and journals to the University Library.
The new publishing agreements for 2026 are now in place.
During the renovation, the library has smaller premises and a temporary entrance.
The study area in the former Medical Library
The reference collection of medical textbooks located in the former Medical Library is available during the study area's opening hours.
The study area is closed for the summer from Monday 22 June to Sunday 16 August.
Regular opening hours:
Monday–Thursday: 08:00–22:00
Friday: 08:00–18:00
Saturday: 11:00–16:00
Sunday: 12:00–18:00
