Contents

The course offers knowledge in plant biotechnological methodology as well as modern plant and forest tree breeding. Methods such as plants as production systems and transgene technology, are used. Emphasis is on biotechnology and molecular breeding of forest tree species but examples are also taken from agriculture. In addition to the potential of plant biotechnology, the course highlights ethical and legal aspects as well as ecological considerations associated with these technologies.

Required Knowledge

15 ECTS Chemistry and 60 credits in Biology, including 30 credits in plant biology and cell- and molecular biology.
