Expected learning outcomes
- analyse a complex use situation with the purpose of identifying the prerequisites and requirements for an existing or a future user interface; this includes applying knowledge of advanced cognitive abilities within humans and social aspects of a use situation
- design user interfaces for complex use situations that correspond to identified needs and requirements
- plan, prepare and carry out evaluations of complex use situations
- choose appropriate theories, methods and tools for the above situation considering the circumstances at hand; motivate the choices related to applicability and usefulness
- apply and use the theories, methods and tools for analysis, design and evaluation of use situations
- critically examine applications of the theories, methods and tools in the evaluation of user situations and to identify / distinguish scientifically sound results
- critically examine how theories, methods and tools are applied while evaluating a use situation and be able to identify / distinguish results supported by scientific methods
Required Knowledge
Univ: To be admitted you must have 60 ECTS-credits in Computing Science or 2 years of completed studies, in both cases including the courses Interaction Techniques (5DV112/5DV132) and Cognitive Interaction Design (5DV067) or equivalent.
Proficiency in English equivalent to Swedish upper secondary course English A (IELTS (Academic) with a minimum overall score of 5.5 and no individual score below 5.0. TOEFL PBT (Paper-based Test) with a minimum total score of 530 and a minimum TWE score of 4. TOEFL iBT (Internet-based Test) with a minimum total score of 72 and a minimum score of 17 on the Writing Section).
Where the language of instruction is Swedish, applicants must prove proficiency in Swedish to the level required for basic eligibility for higher studies.
