Contents

Introduction to magnetospheric physics, auroral physics and observations, optical phenomena in polar regions, mother of pearl clouds, introduction to snow and ice-related phenomena, the climate’s impact on the arctic environment. The course also includes a presentation of the scientific research activities in the Kiruna area and a number of visits. There will be a number of theoretical problems to solve; an experimental part and a project are also included.

Required Knowledge

Univ: Basic eligibility and a major in physics at high school level or equivalent.
