To complete your Bachelor's degree in Life Science with a focus on Chemistry or Molecular Biology, you are required to undertake an experimental research project culminating in a written thesis. During the thesis project period, you will work full-time on a research project. Completing your thesis project is an exciting opportunity to engage in hands-on research and apply your skills in a real-world setting. Start planning early to make the most of this experience.
Apply for the course
You must apply for the degree project course on antagning.se or universityadmissions.se. The application deadline is in the semester before you will be doing your degree project.
Find a supervisor in advance
You need to find a suitable supervisor at a university or life science company. If the work is conducted outside of Umeå University, you will still need a supervisor from Umeå University to ensure that all criteria are met. We recommend that you start the search for a degree project supervisor 4–6 months before the course starts.
