Form of instruction
The course includes a mandatory full-time internship for at least 9 weeks and is placed at a company, public administration, organization or institution that conducts activities that correspond to the student's education. In consultation with the internship supervisor at the department, the student is responsible for arranging their internship and identifying a suitable workplace internship supervisor.
Examination modes
The examination takes place through an individual written report that describes the layout, content and execution of the internship. The report must contain the student's assessment of the relevance of the education to the tasks performed. The examination also includes the workplace internship supervisor's assessment of how well the student has achieved the goals regarding independence, cooperation and ability to plan and carry out tasks.
Grade For the entire course, one of the grades is given as fail (U) or pass (G). A student who has received a passing grade may not retake the exam. A student who has not passed the exam results has the right to participate in a renewed exam (so-called re-examination). For the practical parts of the course, special rules apply (see below). For the written assignment and for the seminars, the first re-exam is offered no later than two months after the regular exam. Where the regular exam takes place in May or June, a first re-examination is offered within three months of the regular exam. In addition, at least one further re-examination is offered within one year of the regular exam, except for those exams that require an additional practice period.
Rejection of a student during an ongoing internship The responsible examiner has the right, in consultation with the supervisor concerned, to decide to fail a student during an ongoing internship in cases where the student exhibits such deficiencies in terms of knowledge, skills or attitudes that these, individually or in combination, entail a tangible risk that the student may, during the internship, harm another person physically or psychologically. The internship is then canceled prematurely and the student receives a failing grade on the course in question. This means that one internship opportunity (of two) has been used up.
In connection with a decision to fail a student during an ongoing internship, an individual development plan must be drawn up by the examiner in consultation with the student. The development plan must specify the knowledge, skills and attitudes that the student needs to acquire in order to restart the internship, in addition to a timetable of inspections by the supervisor. The student is entitled to two such inspections per year. In total, however, the number of control occasions must not amount to more than four, unless there are exceptional reasons.
Limitation of test opportunities The number of internship periods a student can undergo to achieve a passing result is limited to two.
The examiner can decide to adapt the form of examination, specified in the syllabus, to accommodate a student's needs. Individual adaptation of the form of examination should be considered according to a student's needs. Any change to the form of examination must be made within the framework of the curriculum's expected study results. Students who need an adapted examination must request it from the institution responsible for the course no later than 10 working days before the examination. It is the examiner who decides on the adapted examination and then notifies the student.
Other regulations
In granting a university degree, this course may not be combined with any other course that has a similar content. In case of uncertainty, the student should consult the Director of Studies at the Department of Historical, Philosophical and Religious Studies.
In the event that the syllabus expires or undergoes major changes, students are guaranteed at least three exams (including regular exams) according to the regulations in the syllabus on which the student was originally registered for a period of a maximum of two years from the previous syllabus expires or the course has been discontinued.
