Form of instruction
The course consists of lectures, seminars and practical training with teacher-led instruction, indvidual or in group.
Examination modes
Every course section have clear goals that will be assessed at the end of each section. At the start of each course section, the students are informed about the structure of the section and how it will be examined. The examination can be carried out in writing, verbally and visually dependending on the character of the course section. When all course sections have been completed, the gradings for the sections will be compiled. To be able to pass the course, all course sections must be completed. The grades Pass (G) or Fail (U) are awarded for each course section, and for the course as a whole.
For students who have not obtained the grade Pass, other examination sessions will be arranged. A student who for two consecutive examinations for the same course or sub-course has not been passed, has the right to have another examiner appointed, if there are no special reasons against this (Higher Education Ordinance chapter 6, 22 §). The request for a new examiner shall be made in writing to the Head of Department at Umeå Institute of Design.
