Contents

This course treats the basic numerical methods, such as finite differences, and finite elements for solution of partial differential equations together with several relevant applications. The theoretical parts of the course includes, discretization methods in space and time, numerical Fourier transforms, piecewise linear interpolation and approximation properties, and various error estimates. Computer assignments, using Matlab and other software packages, gives practical application of the theory.
