Contents
The course is conducted in project form. Through self-studies, tutorials, interviews, and participation in the various stages involved in radiotherapy do a risk analysis of the radiotherapy chain. The risk analysis includes risk analysis of information and workflows and data analysis of the calibration of a linear accelerator. The work will be based in the existing organization in radiation oncology department. Students are expected to identify the various information sources, information interpreters and existing control mechanisms. This information is compiled in a structured manner and analyzed. The course includes a number of lectures that provide an introduction to risk analysis tool that is frequently used in the sector. Emphasis is placed on Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and Action Error Analysis (AEA). The goal is to assess the relevance and adequacies of the control mechanisms implemented today and suggest additions.
The course includes two modules 1. Risk analysis, 5 credits 2. Final Report, 2.5 credits
Required Knowledge
University: Radiation dosimetry 15 ECTS, Physics of X-rays 7.5ECTS, Radiobiology and Radiation Protection 7.5 ECTS, Applied Dosimetry 5 ECTS, and Radiotherapy 5 ECTS or corresponding. The two last courses can be studied in parallel with this course.Proficiency in English equivalent to Swedish upper secondary course English A (IELTS (Academic) with a minimum overall score of 5.5 and no individual score below 5.0. TOEFL PBT(Paper-based Test) with a minimum total score of 530 and a minimum TWE score of 4. TOEFL iBT (Internet-based Test) with a minimum total score of 72 and a minimum score of 17 on the Writing Section).Where the language of instruction is Swedish, applicants must prove proficiency in Swedish to the level required for basic eligibility for higher studies.
