Research can be taken further and create value beyond academia in many different ways. Starting a company is one option, but it is not always the right path. Before taking that step, there are several things worth considering.
In this session of Beyond Research, lawyer Samuel Isaksson will help you explore when starting a company makes sense and what you need to think through before taking that step.
Who should be involved? What does the company need in order to move the idea forward? Who owns the research results the company will build on? And how can being involved in a company work alongside your role as a researcher?
We will also touch on what starting a company involves in practice, but the main focus is on the questions and decisions that come before registration.
The aim is to give you a clearer picture of whether starting a company could be the right next step for you and your research, and what you need to consider before moving forward.
No prior knowledge is required. Bring your questions, join the discussion, and feel free to submit a question in advance through the registration form.
