About the workshop

The workshop, organized by the University of Jena in collaboration with EC2U partner universities, focuses on “Linguistic and Cultural Diversity: European Dynamics and Intercontinental Entanglements.” This gathering provides doctoral researchers with a valuable opportunity to present their research, engage in scholarly discussions, and foster connections within the framework of the EC2U Virtual Institute of Quality Education (VIQE).This workshop is a unique opportunity to:

• Present your research
• Engage in scholarly discussions
• Network with peers across Europe

Topics of Interest

Contributions may address:

• Multilingualism, multiculturalism, and diversity
• Minority and lesser-taught languages
• Intercultural learning and foreign language teaching
• Post-migrant societies
• Post-)colonial relations and identity
• Globalization and cosmopolitanism
• Literary and media dimensions of diversity

Important dates and grant information

• Application deadline: January 12, 2026
• The EC2U grant covers mobility costs for up to three (3) doctoral researchers and one (1) staff member.
• Notification of selection: Mid-February 2026
• Workshop dates: 24–26 March 2026 (travel days: 23 and 27 March)
