Physical and computational tools in Biology

Time Tuesday 26 September, 2023 at 09:00 - 17:00
Place Aula Betula

The symposium “Physical and computational tools in Biology" takes place 26 September at Aula Betula (6M building, University Hospital, Umeå University).

This full-day event serves as an exceptional opportunity for scientists specializing in the fields of molecular biology, biochemistry, and structural biology to delve into a wide array of "physical and computational" methods including optical microscopy, cryo-electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, optical tweezers, computer simulations, and bioinformatics.

Invited speakers include Ricardo Henriques from the Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência in Portugal, Peter Hinterdorfer from the Johannes Kepler University of Linz in Austria, and Lars-Anders Carlson, Magnus Andersson, and Laura Carroll from Umeå University. These distinguished experts will share their knowledge and insights.

This event warmly welcomes young researchers aspiring to broaden their scientific horizons.

The event organizers are Dario Conca and Fouzia Bano, both from the Department of Clinical Microbiology at Umeå University. The event is sponsored by the Faculty of Medicine and the Umeå Centre for Microbial Research (UCMR).

The registration deadline is 31 August 2023.
