Research infrastructure
Flow cytometry enables simultaneously analysis of cell surface bound as well as intracellular proteins and RNA expression on a single cell basis. In addition, secreted proteins can be analyzed using a bead based systems.
The flow cytometry platform at the Faculty of Medicine currently comprises of four up-to date instruments, i.e., a 12-color FACSLSRII analysis machine, a 13-color FACSAriaIII cell sorter, a 4-color FACSAccuri analysis machine and a bead array analysis Luminex machine.
Currently 45 research groups at the Faculty are part of the platform user club, which is organized as a non-profit unit. Projects span from analysis of bacteria to clinical samples.
The platform offers operator-assisted runs. We also train you to run the machines by yourself.
