The UMeHealth Lab facilities can be booked by submitting a request via TimeEdit; bookings only become valid once confirmed. Access is granted to the person making the booking via their Umu ID, and entry is gained using the Umu card. If additional individuals need access beyond the booker, please include their names and Umu IDs in the public comments section of the request.
The standard hire rate for Umeå University staff is SEK 425 per hour, while all other users are charged SEK 525 per hour. Additional costs will apply if you wish to rent portable equipment not included in the facility’s fixed inventory.

Priority Order for Bookings
UMeHealth Lab should be utilised as much as possible. Priority is given to research projects, while other activities such as teaching and meetings may be accommodated if time permits.
The following booking priority order applies when using UMeHealth Lab:
1. Research projects – Booking requests must be submitted no later than two weeks before the desired date.
2. Teaching
3. Meetings
Please note that you may be contacted and your provisionally booked meeting may be cancelled if a booking with higher priority is made. The deadline is two weeks prior to your scheduled booking.
Introduction and Support During Activities
If you need training or assistance with more advanced equipment, you can book a personal introductory session with the lab manager or a teaching assistant for SEK150 per hour. Support during research or teaching activities is also available from one to three assistants at SEK 150 per hour per assistant. UMeHealth Lab provides a selection of both fixed and portable equipment. The facilities include a conference system, two interactive screens, and two computers equipped with cameras.

Equipment
Certain fixed equipment is included in the price when booking the UMeHealth Lab facilities.
UMeHealth Lab also offers a selection of portable technical equipment available for hire, either together with a lab booking or independently. Details about the available equipment and prices can be found in the document below. The document also provides information on how to book equipment – either via the Equipment Booking function in TimeEdit or by adding an internal comment to your lab booking request.Alternatively, you may contact the lab manager directly to request a booking (see contact information below).
All equipment is rented at a fixed daily or hourly rate, but longer rental periods may be arranged through an agreement with the lab manager. In such cases, a loan agreement is drawn up and signed in two copies by both parties.
For teaching purposes, when hiring a larger quantity of equipment, a package price is available: SEK 500 for a half-day or SEK 1,000 for a full day.
Quotation
Each project has its own specific needs. For larger data collections, extensive facility use, or long-term equipment rentals, customised solutions are arranged in dialogue with the lab manager.
All equipment is rented at a fixed daily or hourly rate. For extended rental periods, a separate rent agreement is drawn up by mutual agreement. The agreement is prepared in two copies and signed by both parties.
Invoicing
Invoicing is carried out on a per-term basis and is based on the booked lab time and the equipment used.
