I have a PhD in food studies, nutrition, and dietetics and defended my thesis in 2025, with the title "Eating alone or eating in loneliness: Food routines, health, and social relations in later life".
I work as an associate professor at the Department of Food, Nutrition and Culinary Science. I teach in different courses within the bachelors programme of food, nutrition and culinary science, for instance about food service organisation, nutrition and scientific methods.
Moreover, I am a reserach assistant at Umeå Institute of Design and involved in the bi-national clinical study called Px7. The primary aim is to determine the potential of carrots in preventing the development of colorectal cancer. I work in a part of the project targeting participation, compliance and adherence, where we prepare support materials for self-tracking and embodied imagining; conduct co-creative workshops with patients; and develop and evaluate a range of carrot products containing high levels of the anti-inflammatory compounds: FaOH/FaDOH, to determine their suitability for helping patients to consume these compounds every day.
