I hold a PhD in history and am a university lecturer and associate professor in Sami studies. My research focuses on Sami society, gender, ethics in indigenous research, and Sami education.
I teach both introductory and advanced courses in Sami studies. The introductory courses are directed to those who are curious about Sami culture and history and wish to gain foundational knowledge. Other courses are more advanced and require prior knowledge of Sami and/or indigenous issues.
I place great emphasis on ensuring that all students feel they are progressing in a safe and educational environment, regardless of their prior knowledge or background. My belief is that everyone who wants to learn more about Sami issues is warmly welcome to study with us—whether they are beginners or deeply rooted in Sami culture but wish to learn more about their own history and culture from a scientific perspective.
Most courses are offered part-time and online, making it possible to participate regardless of where the student lives.
