I am a PhD student in Anna Överby lab. Since flaviviruses have a small genome encoding only 10 proteins, they rely heavily on host cell proteins to complete their life cycle. During my PhD, I am focused on identifying host cell proteins that play key roles in the flavivirus life cycle, particularly in TBEV. Once these proteins are identified, we aim to understand their function and importance in viral replication.

I graduated from Umeå University in June 2025 with a Master of Science in Engineering in Biotechnology. During my master’s thesis, I worked in Annasara Lenman’s group on a different type of virus, which inspired me to continue studying viruses. When Anna Överby offered me the opportunity to join her lab, I was excited to accept and further pursue research on viral-host interactions.
