In March 2022, I began my doctoral studies at the Department of Nursing, Umeå University. My dissertation comprises four studies exploring the experiences from childbirth to parenthood in adults with congenital heart disease (CHD).
The project includes four studies, two of which are interview-based: one exploring midwives’ experiences of caring for women with CHD during childbirth, and another examining the experiences of being a parent with CHD. In addition, two register-based studies use data from the Swedish Pregnancy Register and the Swedish Registry for Congenital Heart Disease (SWEDCON) to investigate self-rated health and breastfeeding frequency among women with CHD.
As a clinical midwife, I have a particular interest in complicated childbirth, where effective teamwork is essential for a safe and positive birth experience. Supervising midwifery students is another area of great importance in my clinical work.
