Student Participation

As a student, your opinions are important to us. The students have knowledge of what works well, or if there is something that can be done in a different way. As a student, you can participate in and influence on a variety of levels in different organs. Below are some options.

Teaching

The undergraduate committee is one of the institution's boards for quality assurance of undergraduate education for example, development work, course offerings, syllabuses etc. The undergraduate committee must have at least three student representatives whose participation is central to the work of the undergraduate committee.

Psychological Association

The association look after the interests of Umeå University's psychology and psychology students, including educational surveillance, guest lectures, gender work and theme days. The Psychological Association also organizes a number of events to meet the social needs of the students and increasing the community between students in psychology.

Program committees

Each program has its own program council consisting of program coordinators, program secretaries, a number of student representatives and teacher representatives from the institutions included in the programs as well as external deputies. The Council meets approximately once a month and has the task of working with the content, rules, procedures and development of the programs.

Umeå student union

The Umeå Student Union has about 12500 members and 10 student sections, 26 unions, a number of student pubs, over 400 student representatives and much more and here you can discuss referrals, work environment and other university-wide issues.

Student Representative

The Umeå Student Union has several students who work full-time with educational issues by monitoring the quality of the programs and serving as student representatives in various decision-making boards. They help students with problems related to education and study situation, as well as inform about rights and obligations.

Beteendevetarsektionen

The Behavioral Sciences section (Betsek) works for approximately 1,600 students studying psychology, sociology, sports science, behavioral science, humanities and cognitive science. The behavioral science section's board consists of representatives from the respective program association and together they work with the study environment and quality of education, and the business is conducted in consultation with the education supervisor and Umeå student union.

KogVetUm for cognition scientists

KogVetUm serves as a student association for students at the Cognitive Science programs. The association and its committees are run by the students on the programs. KogVetUm works to ensure that the students in the programs receive as rewarding and content-rich study time as possible. They work both to maintain a good quality of education and to create fellowship between the students by organizing activities outside the studies.

Who should I turn to?
