Special guests
UID25 will host talks with invited special guests Dr Stella Clarke (BMW Group) and Jens Asserlind (Fjaryl). Our esteemed speakers will also join the closing panel discussion on June 4.

Dr Stella Clarke is a research engineer at BMW Group, known for her innovative work with E Ink technology, which allows vehicle colours to change dynamically. She studied mechanical engineering in Australia, the USA, and Germany. Clarke’s fascination with technology started in her childhood days, fuelled by a curiosity for how the world works. As a passionate maker, she encourages all curious minds to explore science and engineering not only theoretically, but also hands-on.
Always challenging the status quo, Stella Clarke is still driving forward the innovation of flow technology. What started as early prototypes in a local makerspace grew into a full-scale team project, leading to the BMW iX Flow featuring E Ink, the world’s first black-and-white colour-changing car (CES 2022), followed by the BMW i Vision Dee E Ink, the first full-colour concept car (CES 2023). Most recently, she entered the stage at the Frieze LA 2024 art fair to present the BMW i5 Flow NOSTOKANA. This one-of-a-kind vehicle combines the colour changing technology developed by the BMW Group with the artistic language of South African artist Esther Mahlangu.
