Degree Project
2025
Space is a challenging environment that puts strain on the astronauts that live and work there, and one factor in their well-being is the food they eat. Food on space stations is launched in rockets from Earth – ready-made, freeze-dried and sterilized. There is also a limited menu, which gets monotonous during long missions. This project investigates how astronauts benefit from locally grown food and shows a vision for how space-based greenhouses of the near future could look and function.
