Tell us about Porto

It's a seaside town in Portugal's northwest famed for its magnificent bridges, Port wine production, and the Francesinha. I'm coming from a huge metropolis, from narrow streets and tiled houses to little Umea with lovely auroras. Porto, the Invictus City, is a vibrant, appealing, and diverse city that is ideal for everyone.

Why a master programme in Umeå?

My first motivation was that it is a developed country, and Umea is recognized for being more progressive than other swedish cities. Studying abroad in Umea is allowing me to engage with a variety of people and even learn a new language, all of which is having a positive impact on my personal and professional life. I develop more confidence and feel more at ease conversing with individuals from various nations, which is why I wanted to study abroad in the first place.

What is best with the programme so far?

The nicest aspect is being a part of a program with other students who are going through the same challenges that you are, such as relocating to a new nation and institution. It's a benefit to be able to meet individuals who are passionate about the same subject, and to collaborate and exchange ideas during group projects. Also, having that support in place, such as the casual mood between teachers and students, is beneficial.

Your plans after graduation?

My immediate future objectives include learning as much as possible until I eventually assume a leadership position. I'd love the opportunity to lead a team since I believe it would present a fresh challenge while also bringing out the best in my talents. Stay tuned for my long-term ambitions. It's a well-guarded secret.

What is best with Umeå?

The city's location along the large river makes it a wonderful area to get out and about on a bicycle, and the city's outstanding bicycle trails allow you to ride almost anyplace. The city's atmosphere is appealing to young people, since it has a vibrant social environment. It's a joyful location with people who are exceptionally effervescent and outgoing, and it's also a bustling metropolis with lofty ambitions, like a seashell. In Umea, that is the best.

The Buddy Programme

I believe that the Buddy program is a fantastic method for international students to feel more embraced in the country, and that every international student must join. It offers security and works as a second family for us, as it might be difficult to find the time to form close bonds. Being a member of a social circle encouraged me since I was able to enjoy the finest that Umea and Swedish culture had to offer.

Living in Sweden and the Swedish culture

Swedes are mature, democratic, open-minded, courteous, tolerant/accepting, yet they may also be a little superficially kind. I would still advise you to complete your education in Sweden. It's an enthralling nation populated by nice, clever people. The quality of life is excellent, and the cuisine is delicious.
