We seek one project assistant to work with soil ecological research in the Department of Ecology, Environment and Geoscience, with placement in Umeå. This is a time limited position, on 50% from December 15th 2025 – 28 February 2026, or according to agreement. The application deadline is 2025-12-12.

Job Duties
The project assistant will participate in various research activities in the lab. This work will include processing field samples, assisting in the preparation of lab experiments and analyses, and executing lab measurements.

Examples of tasks are:

  • Processing soil samples
  • Weighing and pH measurement
  • Preparing nutrient solutions
  • Assisting in setting up and disassembling lab experiments
  • General lab maintenance

Qualifications
We are looking for applicants with at least a bachelor's degree in biology, ecology, environmental science or equivalent. Applicants should have experience working in the lab. Formal training as a lab technician and knowledge of soil sampling and analysis techniques is a strong merit.
