Demokrati, mänskliga rättigheter och gender: globala perspektiv i utbildning, 7,5 hp

Innehåll
Kursens tre huvudområden är demokrati, mänskliga rättigheter och gender. Grundläggande frågeställningar för demokrati belyses och problematiseras. Mänskliga rättigheter studeras historiskt, politiskt och juridiskt ur såväl internationellt som nationellt perspektiv. Aktuella teoretiska frågeställningar inom området genus och medborgarskap bearbetas. För samtliga tre huvudområden ovan anlägga globala perspektiv och studiet sker I relation till utbildningsvetenskapliga frågeställningar. Dessutom ingår ett valfritt fördjupningsområde inom kursens ram.
Förväntade studieresultat
För godkänd kurs skall den studerande kunna: - redogöra för och diskutera samtida utmaningar mot demokratin - beskriva och analysera problem och potential i den internationella mänskliga rättighetsdiskursen - identifiera och kritiskt diskutera aktuella frågeställningar ifråga om medborgarskap och gender

Undervisningen bedrivs i form av föreläsningar, seminarier och work-shop via webb.
Examination
Den studerandes kunskaper examineras i muntliga och/eller skriftliga former. För att bli godkänd på hela kursen krävs att samtliga examinerande delar är godkända och övriga obligatoriska delar genomförda. Betyget utgör examinators samlade bedömning av den studerandes examinerande resultat. För betyget väl godkänd läggs i bedömningen särskild vikt vid den studerandes förmåga att problematisera och analysera kursens innehåll. Studeranden har rätt att prövas på samma kursplan som vid ordinarie prov vid minst två tillfällen upp till två år efter första registreringstillfället. Undantag från denna regel kan till exempel vara då kursen har genomgått grundläggande vetenskapliga förändringar. En student som utan godkänt resultat har genomgått två prov för kurs eller del av kurs, har rätt att få en annan examinator utsedd om inte särskilda skäl talar emot det (HF 6 kap. 11b §). Begäran om byte av examinator görs hos Humanistisk fakultet. Ansökan om tillgodoräknande görs på särskild blankett (www.umu.se/seblankett/SA) och ställs till Humanistiska fakultetsnämnden. Blanketten skickas till Umeå universitet, Registraturen, 901 87 Umeå. Prövning görs alltid individuellt. Regler finns i tillgodoräknandeordningen vid Umeå universitet. (Dnr. 545-3317-02)
