Meet Puspita from Indonesia

How was your first time here in Umeå? Moving to a new city, starting a new program?
It was so exciting to move to a new city. For me, it's like build a new life in Sweden.

What did you study before you come here?
I did a bachelor degree in Prasetiya Mulya School of Business and Economics and graduated in 2013. I was working as Teaching Assistant in that Business School while I worked as Recruitment Consultant in a Recruitment Consulting Company for 2 years, moved to Payment and Financial Technology Company as Business Development Manager, then moved to Fast Moving Consumer Goods Company, a Swedish Company as Sales Analyst.

How did you find housing?
There was a help from International Housing Umeå University. I could choose the house where I want to live. However, in the 2nd year, we need to move and queue for the new housing through Bostaden.

How do you like Umeå? What is best with Umeå?
The snow and The water quality are THE BEST. I like the snow we have, it is so nice and you can build snowman with that snow. The tap water in Umeå is AMAZING. I went to Stockholm, Göteborg, Lund, and Malmö but for me, the water in Umeå is the freshest!

Everywhere in Umeå can be accessed by walking or biking, if you have a bike. Especially during the summer, I walked a lot to downtown to have some sun bath in the Umeälven.

How do you like your program?
I like the way they structure the program. Despite, we have a lot of articles to read. However, this is Master Level Study.

What has been the hardest?
It was about the Entrepreneurship and Business Growth. We had 20 articles to memorize for the exam. It was tough, though I made it.

Which modules have been most interesting?
Strategizing Business Development and Corporate Governance Course. Working on a real case and also getting new insight about the Corporate Governance.

How does the contact with the teachers work?
The relationship between teachers and students are really nice here. You do not have any hierarchical issue because you can just call them by name. They are also easily to contact whenever you find some difficulties and unclear information.

Have you been on exchange studies abroad within the program or are you planning to apply?
I have never been on exchange studies before and I was planning to apply but I have a lot of things to do with the permit and administration. For me, I love Sweden already.

Have you done an internship or are you planning to?
I had internship also back then when I did my bachelor degree. I am planning to find a summer job in Stockholm or Göteborg.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
I do cooking, learn Swedish, read the books in my spare time. It is really nice to have a lot of friends here from all over the world and I sometimes invite them to my corridor to have some Fika or Lunch.

What part of the social life as a student at USBE do you enjoy most?
Actually, I signed up for USBE however it is a bit hard to access to USBE for Master Student who speaks a little Swedish. However, sometimes I go to E-Puben for some Fika and Tentafest.

What does IKSU mean to you?
It is a relaxing place. I like it a lot though it is a bit expensive. They have a lot of things happen in IKSU. I can do some classes, swim, whirlpool after. Usually I do it after class.

What would be you dream job?
I always have a dream to work in Consulting Company and Technology Company. If I have the opportunity, I would love to work in McKinsey, Microsoft, Apple, Tetra Pak. I have a passion in Cooking, so I also have a dream to be Celebrity Chef. It sounds so FUN.
