Interview with a student from the Master's programme in Human-Computer Interaction and Social Media

Why did you choose to study at Umeå University?
I always wanted to live the experience of studying abroad for my master's degree and gain knowledge in the field I am interested in. Sweden is a country which is famous for the quality of life and has one of the best and most innovative educational systems in the world. I searched for different universities in Sweden in the field that I am interested in and I found Umeå university which is a top one.

What do you like most about your programme?
The whole programme fascinates me. The courses are really interesting and offers me everything I like, new ways of thinking and creativity both combined with theoretical and practical sessions at the same time. Furthermore, the teachers treat you with respect and make your opinion matter. Also, both teachers and staff are helpful with students and close to them.

What do you do when you are not studying?
I am doing a lot of stuff when I am not studying. I enjoy going out for a walk, having "fika" with friends downtown or at the university, joining cultural events and of course partying with friends during the weekends. Every day there is something going on in the town and you never get bored.

What has been your most memorable moment so far?
There are so many nice memorable moments from my life here in Umeå. It is really hard to pick up only one.

What would you say or what advice would you give to another international student thinking of attending Umeå University?
Do it, do not miss the chance. Studying in Umeå will offer you new amazing experiences. From the northern lights and the cold winter to the long sunny summer days, Umeå is a place that definitely you should live in.
