This is the first #frAIday seminar at Umeå University. The talk is held in English.
What if an intelligent system could compensate for a person’s memory impairment after a brain injury so that the person can do what he/she wants and needs to do? What if the intelligent system could assist medical professionals in diagnostic reasoning and decision making? What if the speaking computer “Arne” could have been the “social and intelligent companion” the person pretended it to be back in 1991 to make her daily life living with a severe neurological disease more fun? What if an intelligent AI-based companion can be used for managing stress and prevent illness? How can AI empower and improve humans’ autonomy and abilities in conducting meaningful activities in the society in which they live? How can AI allow and empower the individual to dispute machine-generated reasoning and decisions, and co-create understanding?
