Down North / Contemporary Art in the Arctic
The exhibition presents 21st-century art from an unprecedented cross-section of thirty artists living in Maine, the Canadian Maritimes, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Faroe Islands, Finland, Sweden, and Denmark, as well as Indigenous Nations throughout the region.
Umeå Academy of Fine Arts Degree show 2023
The degree show at Bildmuseet is the culmination of five years of study in fine art and a time of intensive work, research, and discussion. During the master’s programme, students will have developed their artistic practice and explored art's history and contemporary social relevance and its current themes and status. As a visitor, the exhibition offers you insights into the discourse on contemporary art and studies of its techniques and materials.
Swedish Picture Book of the Year
The picture book is an art form that speaks to all ages. The Snöbollen (The Snowball) award for the best Swedish picture book of the year recognises the picture book as an artistic medium. The winner is awarded at Littfest, Umeå International Literature Festival. In conjunction with Littfest, the book's original pictures are showcased in an exhibition at Bildmuseet.
