Assessing Environmental Impacts of Offshore Wind and Aquaculture

Before constructing offshore wind farms or aquaculture facilities, thorough investigations are required, including inventories of benthic organisms, environmental toxins, fish, birds, and other relevant factors. In this seminar, Johnny Berglund from Pelagia, highlights ongoing investigations for offshore wind power in the Gulf of Bothnia and for aquaculture in Norway.

Johnny holds a PhD in marine biology from Umeå Marine Science Centre and has worked almost 20 years at the County Administrative Board in Västerbotten and for the Swedish Marine and Water Management Agency on issues within marine conservation, marine planning and monitoring. Since 2024 he works at Pelagia Nature & Environment AB as a marine project manager.
