The Research Seminar Series in Philosophy invites you to a seminar with Caroline Touborg, "Minimal sufficiency and proportionality between cause and effect".

Abstract:

Yablo has drawn attention to cases that illustrate how a cause must somehow be proportional to its effect (see his ‘Mental causation’ and 'Cause and essence', both 1992). Yablo himself suggests a counterfactual-based account of proportionality. However, this account faces problems. In this talk, I instead propose a minimal sufficiency account of proportionality, and show that such an account can.

All interested are welcome to participate in this seminar.

This seminar is held online in Zoom. Link for participation will be distributed by email to the seminar distribution list. If you wish to participate but are not on this list you can get the link by contacting Pär Sundström, see below.
