Icelab visiting researcher Yuan Liao presents 'Transforming Urban Mobility: Towards Data-Informed Environmentally and Socially Sustainable Transport Systems' in IceLab November 27th 11.00, in IceLab's Living Room and in Zoom.
Abstract
In this presentation, I introduce my research: using large-scale mobility data to steer urban mobility toward environmental sustainability and social equity. I begin with a methodological approach that fuses anonymized mobile-phone data, census records, GIS layers, and advanced models to capture fine-grained spatiotemporal travel behavior. Next, I present measures of social mixing based on individual mobility trajectories, highlighting how they shape exposure to diverse social contexts. Finally, I share ongoing work leveraging network embeddings to better understand socio-spatial segregation.
